He forgot I was asexual, so I pretended I was having sex with lots and lots of people here to see if he would remember. I had a number of conspirators who were all too happy to help.

[Sholmes holds back another burst of laughter, this time feigning clearing his throat into his hand.]

It was a good plan, was it not? My next one is almost as good, if not quite as funny.

[This man says it with such a straight face that it is so hard not to find it funny. But Sholmes keeps his composure!]

But it does not require a lie, which I am sure your brother will appreciate.

Actually, the best part about my last plan was that I did not lie to him. I never outright said I was having sex with people. We all merely . . . potentially implied it and let his mind run wild.

[ He pulls out another Pokeball, tapping at it. ]

I guess you could say I have two plans now, given the one we have concocted already. And this one will not require any lying either.

There is a fine line between lying and misleading, my good fellow. [But he isn't here to lecture. Honestly, it really is kind of funny.

Sholmes' eyes flick down to the Pokeball.]

You are just full of ideas. And what is the other plan, then?

I will share it with you, since you are a fellow member of the Ingo Memory Squad. We will come up with a better name later.

[ He lets Haxorus out of the ball. He is a big boy!! As tall as Emmet, anyway. ]

This is Haxorus. He is an essential part of my new plan.

[That is a very big boy! And somewhat intimidating, though Sholmes appears more curious than anything else — though his brows do lift.]

Good day to you, Haxorus. What a striking creature.

Does your plan require his size? His strength?

My plan requires . . . him.

[ He gestures at Haxorus, who just nods! He's a happy friendly boy . . . who is immediately going over to paw at Emmet's pocket. Emmet takes out a berry, handing it over to him so he can munch on it while Emmet continues to explain his plan. ]

So, as I have mentioned, I run the Battle Subway. I used to run it with Ingo! We have our own Pokemon teams, but we sometimes share certain Pokemon. Haxorus is actually Ingo's, but he fell into my possession after Ingo's disappearance. He is Ingo's because Ingo specifically caught him and raised him after he got sick of losing to my Eelektross.

[Oh, a big friendly boy, indeed. Sholmes watches him snack for a bit, before returning his look at Emmet.]

So he should have a bond with Haxorus, is your meaning — one that is strong enough to incite new memories?

This is my Haxorus.

[ He says that with a grin. Haxorus looks up from the berry and nods! before going back to snacking. ]

That is not a lie, because he is currently registered to me and has been on my teams before. However, he is Ingo's. And if Ingo wants his ace back, he is going to have to remember. I am absolutely shooting myself in the foot by bringing him here, but Ingo's memories are more important. Haxorus agrees, so he is willing to play along.

[Sholmes ‘hmm’s.]

In which case, you plan on doing what? Battling with your brother, and showing off Haxorus accordingly?

He will be rotated into my battle teams accordingly. I will play it verrrry cool. It will be up to Ingo to piece it together. I think he should, since he is trying to figure out how to defeat Eelektross. Haxorus is the best counter by far.

Ah, so you expect it not to be a sudden realization, but a slow and steady one.

I imagine, eventually, you will achieve the desired result with enough time and patience.

Exactly. And I get custody of his ace in the meantime.

[ He grins, patting Haxorus's arm. ]

[ and gives Haxorus another berry at that. Haxorus nods in agreement! yup, totally Emmet's Haxorus! ]

Yes, I agree. He is your Haxorus.

Of course. He played those songs so many times that I already know them by heart. I can do a few runthroughs with the Conductor so he will be able to visually accompany us.
